No one wants to kill an animal just because it is not wanted. But the facts are............. that is what happens. Who We Are
The City of Pevely Animal Shelter rescues animals for the incorporated city limits of Pevely, Missouri. We impound homeless or lost animals from the Pevely area. However adoptions are available to ALL GOOD PET PARENTS. We are always happy to find special people who are willing to be a foster parent to one of these babies in their home or facitlity. This insures a new life for a homeless animal. A kennel life is cruel and when we run out of space, they absolutly have no chance. When you adopt an animal from a Municipal Animal Control Shelter you will be saving it's life! Our goal is to save unwanted animals by adoptions and to prevent unwanted animals by sterilization.
Adopting a friend
Adopters must fill out an application to be reviewed before an animal is released to a new owner. All animals that come here are strays or unwanted pets. The cost of adoption is up to the adopter. There is no charge for the adoption, however, You will be asked to sign an adoption agreement that will allow thirty (30) days for the sterilization and the inoculation against the rabies virus. For puppies and kittens the sterilization date will be altered. This agreement will not apply to our seniors that are just to old to be sterilized. This gives you the opportunity of selecting your own veterinarian or selecting a program that offers low cost neuter and spays for sheltered animals. We only adopt animals to responsible, carring pet parents. You must be 21 years old or older to adopt from this shelter.

We are located in the City of Pevely, Missouri at 501 Dunklin Industrial Drive. Our hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 3:00PM. Please contact Bonnie Amsden at 636-475-7405. If you get a machine..Please leave a message and she will call you back ASAP or e-mail Dogcop201@yahoo.com for an apointment to visit the animals. Bonnie is the only Animal Control Officer for the City of Pevely and she is not always at the shelter. The animals do not want to miss your visit so please contact Bonnie for an appointment.
